Summer: the perfect time to sit back, relax and read a good book on the beach. Here’s our list of our must-reads!

1. Funny Girl: Set in 1960s London, Funny Girl follows 21-year-old Barbara Parker whose dream is to become an actress and lifelong goal to make people laugh on the “telly.” 2. Boy in the Striped Pajamas: After school-aged Bruno moves to a new home far away with no one to play with and nothing to do, his spirit of exploration and adventure leads him to meet another young boy whose life is very different than his own. 3. In the Unlikely Event: Based on true events, Judy Blum recounts the tragedies of three plane crashes that took place in her hometown of Elizabeth, NJ in the early 1950’s with Blum’s fictional character Mimi Ammerman. 4. The Knockoff: When Imogen Tate, editor in chief of Glossy magazine, returns after six months she finds out that her twentysomething former assistant is plotting to replace her by reducing the 768-page September issue… into an app. 5. Go Set a Watchman: Assumed to be a lost manuscript written before To Kill a Mockingbird, Go Set a Watchman was found in 2014 and takes place twenty years after To Kill a Mockingbird, featuring many of the classic’s characters including Atticus and Scout Finch.
