D.I.Y. Colorful Candy Apples

Fall is almost upon us which means it’s apple picking season. Checkout our D.I.Y. on how to turn your apples into candy colored deliciousness!

Ingredients: -6-8 medium apples -3 cups of white sugar -½ cup light corn syrup -1 cup water -2 Tbsp white food coloring -1-2 tsp. of gel coloring -Skewer sticks -Cookie Sheet -Non-stick Spray -Sauce Pan -Candy Thermometer
1. Combine the sugar, corn syrup, water, and food coloring in sauce pan. Turn on medium to high heat and let the mixture come to a boil. 2. Let the candy come to 302°F (hard crack stage). This will take about 20 minutes. Do not stir the mixture while it heats. 3. Wash, dry and place sticks in apples, then spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray. 4. Work quickly and begin dipping your apples. 5. After they’re dipped, set them on the buttered cookie sheet to harden.
