Isaac Mizrahi to Join “Chicago” Cast on Broadway!

Isaac Mizrahi made his Broadway debut at the Ambassador Theatre! Mizrahi will be taking over the role of beleaguered husband Amos Hart in the long-running and wildly successful musical “Chicago."

Though this was his first foray into Broadway as an actor, the award-winning designer has experienced the spotlight before. A pioneer of “masstige,” his colorful collaboration with Target shook the fashion world and helped pave the way for a cultural shift in how we perceive fashion.

In the realm of theatre, Mizrahi has won awards for his costume designs for various other works, such as “Barefoot in the Park,” “The Threepenny Opera,” and “The Women.” He has also created legendary looks for famous femmes like Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, and Meryl Streep.

Outside of his experiences as an iconic designer, Mizrahi has an annual residency at the legendary Café Carlyle in New York City, and has performed at various venues across the country. The “Project Runway All Stars” judge has also taken a turn in the director’s seat at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis with the productions “A Little Night Music” and “The Magic Flute.”

Isaac joins a rock-solid cast in this production of “Chicago,” including Charlotte d'Amboise as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ryan Silverman as Billy Flynn, Charity Angél Dawson as Matron “Mama” Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

The cast also features other theater veterans and some newcomers, including:

  • Jennifer Dunne

  • David Bushman

  • Jessica Ernest

  • Jeff Gorti

  • Arian Keddell

  • Sharon Moore

Chicago is the second-longest-running Broadway show in history. The award-winning show has been seen by 36 million people in 36 different countries since its debut.

Mizrahi is appearing in the show from November 7th to November 26th at the Ambassador Theatre. Tickets for the musical sensation can be purchased online from the Broadway site.
